Contributions should be written in English. The workshop language is English.

The complex of topics surrounding sustainable development, climate protection, digitalization, and artificial intelligence is being discussed more intensively and comprehensively than ever before. Efficient solutions to application problems and challenges posed by the energy and resource demands of information and communication technologies are two sides of the same coin and must be considered together.

The Doctoral Workshop invites submissions for the 2026 joint conference of EnviroInfo and Sustainable Development Conference in Lodz. The aim is to highlight the work of young researchers who are developing innovative solutions to pressing ecological and societal challenges. The special issue provides a platform to present dissertation topics, methodological approaches, and initial findings, as well as to foster interdisciplinary discussions; interdisciplinarity, in particular, is a key challenge in research within environmental and sustainability informatics. Submissions are welcome from all areas of environmental informatics and sustainable development, including climate protection, sustainable resource use, green software engineering, and environmental monitoring. The publication can appear in one of the publication possibilities of the conference and provides early-career researchers with broad visibility within the scientific community. Any Submission of doctoral projects are very welcome and may address one of all the topics of both conferences: EnviroInfo 2026 https://enviroinfo2026.gi.de/ and Sustainable Development Conference 2026 https://www.conferencesd26.uni.lodz.pl/pl/ as they are for example:

• Green Environmental Management Information Systems

In the workshop, we will have the opportunity to explain the topic of our recent research and the goals of our doctoral work. We will be interactive and supported by experienced mentors and discuss different doctoral topics and development ideas in Sustainable Development and Environmental informatics together. A networking with exchange of experiences in doctoral procedures, publication possibilities ore abroad work-stays in environmental sciences will be enhanced.
